It's not my strength, but Your's that carries me!

“Anyone having troubles should pray” James 5:13

Before you go anywhere else with your troubles, go to God. Maybe you don’t want to trouble God with your hurts. After all He’s got famines, pestilence and war; He won’t care about your struggles, you might think. I know I have at times. He cared enough about a wedding to provide the wine. He cared enough about Peter’s tax payment to give him a coin. He cared enough about the woman at the well to give her answers. “He cares about you” 1 Peter 5:7

:)

Jesus,

You are the whisper in my heart that speaks to me.

…I will sing about your strength. I the morning I will sing about your love. You are my defender. My place of safety in times of trouble. God my strength, I will sing praises to you. God, my defender, you are the God who loves me.

Psalm 59: 16-17

What a great description! I see God many different ways, but as a defender? Awesome imagery. God defending me?! I love it.

Nature provides many examples of this incredible discrepancy between who we appear to be and who we truly are. Consider the caterpillar. If we brought a caterpillar to a biologist and asked him to analyze it and describe its DNA, he would tell us, I know this looks like a caterpillar to you, but scientifically, according to every test, including DNA, this is fully and completely a butterfly. Wow! God has wired into a creature that looks nothing like a butterfly, a perfectly complete butterfly identity, and because the caterpillar is a butterfly in essence, it will one day display the behavior and attributes of a butterfly. The caterpillar matures into what is already true about it. In the meantime, berating the caterpillar for not being more like a butterfly is not only futile, it will probably hurt his tiny ears.

So it is with us. God has given us the DNA of godliness. We are saints. Righteous. Nothing we do will make us more righteous than we already are. Nothing we do will alter this reality. God knows our DNA. He knows that we are Christ in me, and now he is asking us to join him in what he knows is true.

This is great, thanks for sharing.

Continue seeking God with seriousness. Unless He wanted you, you would not be wanting Him.

IS BEING RELEASED FROM THE HOSPITAL NOW!

Excellent! she’s at the top of my prayer list these days.

Sometimes I feel more like Peter, just after Jesus got arrested, instead of Peter the Rock of the church. Surrounded by non-christians, it’s difficult to take a stand. I don’t deny that I know Christ, but there are times I don’t say anything, which might as well be the same thing. I need to remember that God saved me, and I need to praise him at all costs. “God, I must keep my promises to you. I will give you my offerings to thank you, because you have saved me from death. You have kept me from being defeated. So I will walk with God in the light among the living.” Psalm 56:12-13

For what you think is an unanswered prayer may really be God’s answer. Take a closer and deeper look. He actually heard and answered you.

YES!!! I truly believe God answers all prayers…it may be a Yes, it may be a no, it may be a wait and see…but he answer them all. Can you imagine the outcome if a parent honored each request of a child made during a trip? We’d have a lot of large kids, covered in Ice Cream. Can you imagine if God indulged us as well? There would be a lot of chaos. God’s destiny for our lives is salvation. If God must choose between our earthly satisfaction and our heavenly salvation, which do you suppose he chooses?
