It's not my strength, but Your's that carries me!

The wisdom that comes from God is first of all pure, then peaceful, gentle and easy to please

James 3:17

Who do you say that I am?

Matthew 16:15

Consider the weight of that Question, the significance of what Jesus is asking his disciples.

  • Am I just another religious figure to you?
  • Or do my teachings permeate your soul, transform your life?
  • Do you understand that I am God?

So, for those of you reading this, I say what the Disciples say “You are the Christ, the Living God”

For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.

James 1:3, NLT

My Endurance must be incredible after the last couple of years!  ;)

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.

Psalm 56:3

Prayers for the people of Chile

All things are possible for the one who believes

Mark 9:23

I just read this….awesome!

So I tell you to believe the things you ask for in prayer, and God will give them to you

Mark 11:24

I truly believe that God answers all prayers, It may be a “Yes”, it may be a “No”, it may be a “wait and see”, but He always answers.

The Cloak of Humanity

While Jesus lived on earth he prayed to God and asked God for help. He prayed with loud cries and tears to the One who could save him from death (Hebrews 5:7)

My what a portrait! Jesus is on the stage of fear. Jesus is cloaked, not in sainthood, but in humanity.

The next time the fog finds you, you might do well to remember Jesus in the garden. The next time you think that no one understands, reread the fourteenth chapter of Mark. The next time your self-pity convinces you that no one cares, pay a visit to Gethsemane. And the next time you wonder if God really perceives the pain that prevails on this dusty planet, listen to him pleading among the twisted trees.

No Wonder They Call Him The Savior

I read this the other day and it was exactly what I needed. Thank you Jesus.

Worthless worry

I worry. I worry I won’t have enough money, and when I have enough money I worry that I won’t manage it well. I worry that the world will end before the parking meter expires. I worry what the dog thinks if he sees me step out of the shower. I worry that someday I’ll learn that fat-free yogurt was fattening.

So I ask myself this question…Did God save me so I would fret? Would he teach me to walk just to watch me fall? Would he be nailed to the cross for my sins and then disregard my prayers? Come on. Is scripture teasing me when it reads, “He has put his angels in charge of you to watch over you wherever you go?” (Psalm 91:11)

My answer: I don’t think so…

Thank you Lord for watching over me.
